Prayer - Perfecting our Salat
We’ve just spent the blessed month of Ramadan trying our best to be timely and present in our prayers. Salat is one of the actions that makes us Muslim. Shouldn’t we do our absolute best to perform it perfectly, and shouldn’t we FEEL our souls connect to Allah? We will spend the weekend really looking at our prayer. From the spiritual bene its, to the actual things we say & do in our prayer — let’s spend time look at the spiritual transformation that can happen when we really give our Salat its rights. This is the best care we can give to our Soul - connecting it to its Owner. We are blessed to have this workshop led by Ustadah Latifah Ihsan Ali, who has studied all of her adult life at the feet of scholars around the Muslim World.

Pampering & Self Care
May Allah bless you for all the work you did for others during the month of Ramadan! MashaAllah, with Allah is the best reward - always. However, it’s still important for us to take care of ourselves. We want to give you an opportunity to pamper yourself, just a little. Enjoy quiet time for reflection, reawaken your body with movement and stretching classes, let the stress roll out to sea with a professional massage in a safe , and relaxing space. Find peace in nature, tranquility & rest in the beautiful surroundings that Allah has created as a sign of His magnificence, for our contemplation, and for our enjoyment. Finally, enjoy nourishing, delicious meals that have been prepared with love - for you!

Play & Sisterhood
Come, spend the weekend connecting with other sisters on la Isla de Encanta. We need to know and support one another. Learn from each other. Spend some time regrounding yourself by learning how to garden with other sisters. Enjoy lighthearted fellowship over games and stories. Let’s break bread together, camp under the starts together, share our happiness and our worries, and make new friends. This island is small, and our communities will be stronger if we extend our reach to each other on all corners of Puerto Rico, insha’Allah.
For this short retreat guests are welcome to commute from home, or set up their own tent for on-site camping, at no additional charge. La Casita has three full bathrooms to accommodate sisters’ personal needs, and also there is an outdoor shower available for use. Enjoy the clear sky in el campo, and have a chance to spend some quality time in nature.
Looking for real food??!! Retreat guests will enjoy fresh, nourishing, and delicious halal foods — in the style of the Carribean, the Mediterranean, and the good ‘Ole South’. Your meals will be freshly prepared by Muslim chefs — with love, care, and intention. We suspect you will fall in love with our fresh morning pastries prepared by our own pastry chef.
We hope you will take the opportunity to not HAVE to do ANYTHING. Pray, rest, meditate, identify trees, plant seeds, or attend the program. Take this opportunity to take what you need for your own renewal. The house is open to all retreat guests, for rest, conversation, and programming. We hope you enjoy being in the country for a few days, and benefit from the sounds and the pace of el campo.

Ustadha Latifah Ihsan Ali
Ustaadha Latifa Ihsan Ali traveled overseas at the young age of 20 seeking to understand the Quran in it’s original language. She lived and studied in the Middle East for ten years experiencing the tastes, sights, sounds, history, and generosity of Arabic-speaking people who have been Muslim for generations.
She was honored to pray, recite, study under, and make du'a with descendants of our beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم in Hadramawt, Yemen. She finished top three in her class at the Abu Nur Institute and went on to obtain her Recitation Ijaza from Damascus, Syria.
She has taught Arabic and Islamic Studies, Women's Fiqh, Tajweed, and Tafseer to native Arabic-speaking students in Yemen at Dar Az Zahra, the women’s school of Habib Umar Ibn Hafiz. When Ustaadha Latifa returned to the United States, she taught Tajweed, Tafseer and Arabic out of her home and in masaajid and madaaris in Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE.
She created an empowerment dance workout event for divorced women to release their pain, reclaim their power and redefine their lives called Shake It OFF! She is the digital creator and author of The Ultimate Du’a Audiobook for Women, du’a collections to listen and learn the proper pronunciation of Du’a, as well as You Are Who Allah Says You are, 135 Qur’aan Affirmations rooted in Islamic principles. Ustaadha Latifa supports women to deepen their connection to Allah through the study of Qur’aan. She currently teaches Qur’aan at Masjid Al Kauthar where her father is the Resident Imam. She is a newlywed and mother of two young adults.
Sakina Lorraine Kelly
Sakina is a giving soul at heart. While she has been giving to others as an ICU/ER nurse for over twenty years, we are blessed because she also passes this care through her rejuvenative massage therapy sessions. As a licensed massage therapist, Sakina will find those areas on your body that need release. She has the gift of locating stress then skillfully and gently coaxing the tension from your body. Massage is an age old method of releasing stress and toxicity from the body. What a wonderful way to complete a cleansing Ramadan month, by helping your body rid itself of tension, stress and toxic energy.
Nicole Johnson
Nicole has been a professional dancer, teacher, and yoga instructor for over 20 years. She has danced on Broadway in performances like The Lion King, and she has taught all kinds of women to have fun while moving their bodies. We all could be more active. Our bodies need exercise, but dancing and working out with Nicole does not feel like work. She brings dancing as medicine. A way for us to heal our stress and our bodies without even know that we are taking the medicine.
